RIDE THE CAPE TULBAGH | 9-11 OCTOBER 2026

The inaugural Tulbagh edition promises an unforgettable spring weekend in one of the Western Cape’s most picturesque valleys.

Based at De Stilte, a luxury glamping venue nestled alongside the Boontjiesrivier, riders can choose between stylish glamping tents on-site or a selection of nearby guest houses. Once you arrive, your wallet can stay packed away. Accommodation, meals, drinks, activities and riding are all included.

Over three days, riders will explore a network of newly built trails and hidden gems that showcase the best of the Tulbagh region. Expect a rewarding blend of flowing singletrack, jeep track and rolling terrain framed by fynbos, fruit orchards and canola fields in full bloom.

A standout day sees riders finish a challenging but achievable 56km route at Twee Jongegezellen, where a Krone Cap Classique tasting and lunch await.

Back at De Stilte, the experience continues with wood-fired hot tubs, mountain stream walks, olive tastings, farm-dam swims and live entertainment, including the renowned Wolseley Marimbas.

And then there’s the food. From giant paellas cooked fresh in one-metre pans to open-fire feasts and locally inspired cuisine, every meal is part of the experience.

RIDE THE CAPE ELGIN | 20-22 NOVEMBER 2026

A month later, Ride the Cape heads to the cool-climate paradise of Elgin.

Hosted at the beautiful Cherry Glamping venue, this three-day adventure showcases some of the valley’s most sought-after trails, including sections of the famous Paul Cluver trail network that are normally only accessible during major events.

The riding is characterised by pristine, flowing trails that seem purpose-built for fun. While the terrain remains hilly enough to keep riders honest, the daily distances are designed to be achievable for the average mountain biker.

Along the way, riders will enjoy experiences that perfectly capture the flavour of Elgin. Highlights include a wine tasting stop at the Paul Cluver Amphitheatre, a legendary lunch at Hickville Smokehouse and a final-day stop at the vibrant Elgin Railway Market featuring coffee, pastries, fudge, cherries and local cheeses.

The culinary experience is once again a major attraction, with paella, slow-cooked potjie meals, open-fire cooking and the best local produce helping to fuel the adventure.
