There was a time when buying an electric mountain bike meant choosing from a handful of established brands. Today, the eMTB landscape is evolving at remarkable speed, with new technology, more powerful drive systems and fresh thinking redefining what riders can expect from their next bike.

One of the newest names to arrive in South Africa is Teewing – and while the brand may still be unfamiliar to many local riders, its flagship Turbo Force model certainly isn’t short on ambition.

Distributed locally by Vincent Bikes, the Teewing Turbo Force brings together cutting-edge technology with modern trail geometry to create an eMTB that’s equally at home on flowing singletrack, scenic district roads and challenging mountain trails. Combining impressive power, remarkably low weight and generous battery capacity, it’s an eMTB designed to make every ride more enjoyable – whether you’re chasing personal bests or simply chasing sunsets.

BIG POWER MEETS LOW WEIGHT

At the heart of the Turbo Force is the latest Avinox drive system. The complete South African specification features the Avinox M2S motor, producing a staggering 130Nm of continuous torque with peak output reaching an incredible 1300 watts. Need even more? Boost mode temporarily increases torque to 150Nm for those brutally steep climbs or technical obstacles that demand maximum assistance.

Numbers like these place the Turbo Force among the most powerful production eMTBs currently available. Yet impressive power is only part of the story.

The motor itself weighs just 2.59kg, while the full carbon frame tips the scales at an astonishing 2.37kg. The result is an eMTB that delivers impressive handling and agility while maintaining the stiffness required for confident descending and precise cornering. Teewing’s monocoque carbon construction further enhances torsional rigidity, particularly through the rear triangle, giving riders the responsive feel expected from a premium trail bike.

BUILT FOR SERIOUS TRAIL RIDING

The Turbo Force isn’t simply a powerful motor attached to a carbon frame. Its 160mm front and 150mm rear suspension travel positions it firmly in the all-mountain and enduro category, making it equally at home climbing technical singletrack, attacking rough descents or cruising on rolling gravel roads and jeep track routes, where comfort is a priority.

The integrated Avinox ecosystem includes a crisp 2-inch OLED display, wireless handlebar controllers and multiple assistance modes including Eco, Trail, Turbo, Auto and Boost. Using the Avinox app, riders can tailor the bike’s assistance to match everything from all-day adventures to full-gas trail sessions.

Battery range anxiety is also a thing of the past. Depending on frame size, the Turbo Force is equipped with either a 600Wh or 800Wh integrated battery, with the larger option offering a claimed range of up to 157 kilometres under favourable riding conditions.

A FRESH ALTERNATIVE

Perhaps the biggest attraction of Teewing is that it represents something different.

The eMTB market has become increasingly competitive, but innovation often comes from brands willing to challenge convention. Teewing combines advanced carbon frame construction, one of the industry’s most talked-about drive systems and modern trail geometry into a package that deserves serious attention from riders shopping in the premium eMTB segment.

For South African riders looking beyond the familiar names, Teewing offers an opportunity to experience the latest generation of electric mountain bike technology without compromise.

The Teewing Turbo Force is available through Vincent Bikes and its retail partner network  in South Africa and Namibia, with options ranging from a complete carbon frameset for custom builds to complete bikes built according to individual rider requirements.
