Famed for their Dry Land Vineyards in the Paarl Region, the new partnership between Perdeberg Wines and Dryland Event Management goes well beyond a synergy of names. Both companies pride themselves on delivering premium products that enhance the experience of their clientele. From the 2025 Glacier Storms River Traverse onwards, Perdeberg Wines will be awarded at the evening podium presentations at Dryland stage races.
Paid partnership with Dryland Event Management
Known as the Home of Chenin, Perdeberg Wines has been an industry leader since 1941, when it was established to ensure that the Agter-Paarl farmers would receive better prices for their premium grapes. In the nearly 85 years since the winery introduced measures which are now industry staples like cold fermentation and employing viticulturists to ensure the best possible fruit reaches the winery. In 2013, the now iconic Dry Land range was launched, made exclusively from grapes from unirrigated vineyards, to critical and commercial success. The first vintage even garnered the prestigious Michaelangelo Awards’ Best Producer title in 2014. Recently, five gold medals were awarded to Perdeberg Wines by the Global Chenin Blanc Masters, reinforcing the winery as the Home of Chenin Blanc.

The ethos that drives the Dry Land collection’s winemaking process is that Mother Nature provides the best fruit. An approach of minimal intervention and allowing the strain of unirrigated production to produce intense fruit. This translates well to endurance sport, where challenging conditions, tough courses, and fierce competition form a crucible in which the best memories and most resilient characters are forged.
“At Perdeberg Wines, we’re proud to join forces with Dryland Event Management – a partnership that naturally aligns with the spirit of our Dry Land Collection,” Niel Groenewald, Head of Sales and Marketing for Perdeberg Wines, stated. “Both brands celebrate endurance, resilience, and a deep connection to the land, making this collaboration a perfect fit. Through this partnership, riders and trail runners can look forward to elevated race experiences complemented by the bold, expressive character of our dryland-crafted wines. It’s a celebration of adventure, community, and exceptional craftsmanship – both on the trail and in the bottle.”

“We are looking forward to working alongside another company that shares the Dryland values,” Henco Rademeyer, of Dryland Event Management, said. “Perdeberg Wines are leaders in their industry, and I know the participants in our events will greatly appreciate their wines. Not only will Perdeberg Wines be available to taste and purchase at our events going forward, but their wines will also form part of the podium prizes.”
“Personally, I’m looking forward to hearing stories from the day’s riding and running over a glass or two of the Endura Single Vineyard Chenin Blanc,” Rademeyer smiled. “Along with our Dry Land range, we are sure that Perdeberg Wines’ Rex and Endura wines will find a place on the wine racks of many a Dryland race participant,” Groenewald echoed. “Our Vineyard and Classic Collections, as well as the Soft Smooth Range, will also win fans, particularly among wine drinkers who are developing their palates; almost like athletes who are building the fitness and skills to progress from a one-day event, like the Prince George Monumental 100-Miler, to a multi-day stage event, like the Garden Route Giro.”

The next event on the Dryland Event Management schedule is the Glacier Storms River Traverse, which takes place from the 1st to the 3rd of August 2025. While entries to the three-day stage race are sold out, participants can still secure a spot in the Momentum Medical Scheme Cape Pioneer, presented by Biogen (30 September to 4 October), the Prince George Monumental 100-Miler (11 October), and the Dryland Traverse trail run (30 October to 2 November).
