Get ready to mark your calendars for a genuine day-of-adventure that suits all riders – whether you’re just getting started, riding steadily, or racing seriously. The 2025 edition of the Magalies Adventure is coming up on Sunday, 30 November 2025, at the stunning new venue of Galloway Gardens just outside Magaliesburg.
Paid partnership with The Leverage Corporation
Since kicking off in 2008, this event has built up a great reputation for delivering big vistas, gravel and mountain-bike style terrain, and a relaxed yet adventurous vibe. For 2025 it’s the 17th staging, so you’re joining a time-tested ride with serious credibility. What makes it ideal for all levels is the range of distances offered, plus the friendly focus on the journey rather than just racing the clock. Whether you’re dipping your toe into the off-road world or prepping for something tougher, this is for you.

The route
You’ll get to tackle some of the best terrain in the Magaliesburg region – sprawling gravel roads, farm tracks across game farms, rugged private land and mountain trails that feel remote and real. Here’s how it looks:
- 100 km – the full “Magalies Adventure” route
- 65 km –the “Magalies Challenge”
- 45 km – the “Mini Magalies” option, great for those newer to longer distances or who want more time for post-ride chilling.
Start times: the 100 km field kicks off at 06:30, and the 65/45 at 06:45.

What’s in it for you
- A professionally managed event: you’ll get support, route markings and all the logistics handled so you can focus on riding and the experience.
- Medal, lucky draw prizes and a positive post-ride vibe (plus shower facilities at the venue).
- Terrain that rewards both competent riders and those stepping up: the faster distances will challenge, the shorter ones will welcome.
- The venue and post-ride scene: Ride, then stay, recover, enjoy – the venue is right next to the Black Horse Brewery Christmas market, so you can make a full morning of it.

Ideal for you if…
- You’re new to gravel/MTB but want a properly supported, longer ride experience without excessive technical stress.
- You’re somewhere in between, looking for something more scenic and fun rather than full race mode.
- You’re more experienced and hunting for a properly long day out (100 km) through varied terrain, and still want the vibe of a relaxed event rather than cut-throat racing.

And don’t forget that this event is part of the Luxliner Schools Challenge. Participating schools can win R50 000 for their schools in the series. Find out more and how to participate by sending an email to info@leveragecorporaton.co.za
If you have a partner who prefers to hit the trails on foot, there’s also a 5km and a 10km on offer for trail runners and walkers.
So here it is – the 2025 Magalies Adventure is calling. If you’ve been saying you want a “big ride, good scenery, nothing too crazy” – this is it.
